Imagine a place where sculptures sing in the breeze, plants beg to be touched, and every path leads to a new adventure. That’s exactly what you’ll find at Sofia’s Play Garden at Lauritzen Gardens—a delightful acre of sensory-rich, curiosity-sparking joy.

Born from a five-to-seven year dream, and now blooming into reality thanks to community love and generous donors, this playful paradise is here to sprinkle some serious magic across Omaha.

Eight Zones of Pure Imagination

Forget cookie-cutter playgrounds. This place is a garden of possibilities, bursting with interactive zones that bring out your inner explorer. Here's what you’ll find according to their website:

Artifact Hills – nature meets ancient storytelling
Crafting Nook – creativity unleashed
Thicket Forest – shady trails and secret hideouts
Hager Family Springs – splash-worthy fun for all ages
Songbird Village – music meets movement in the trees
Loess Hills Landing – Nebraska pride, rooted and wild
Mary’s River View – quiet, sweeping serenity
The Neighborhood – a playful ode to community

Each zone has been crafted with love and intention; featuring things like interactive drums, lily pad stepping stones, art zone, and more.

A Place for Everyone

What makes Sofia’s extra special? It’s designed with all ages and abilities in mind. This is not just a playground—it’s an inclusive experience where you can wander, wonder, splash, climb, or just sit and smile.

Whether you’re a toddler toddling, a teen exploring, or a grandparent soaking in the sunshine, there’s something here for you.

The Story Behind the Name

This garden isn’t just beautifully designed—it’s deeply personal. Named after the daughter of one of the project’s generous donors, Sofia’s Play Garden is a love letter to imagination, growth, and giving back.

It’s a space that honors both the joy of childhood and the power of community. CUTE!

After years of running my fashion truck and online shop, I’ve decided to sell my business and close this chapter to focus on new adventures. This wasn’t an easy decision—*hello ruby* has been such a huge part of my life, and I’ll forever cherish the memories, the amazing customers, and the connections I made. 💖

I’ll be focusing on growing *A Local Collective*, curating vendors for Midtown Crossing, and continuing my rebranded podcast, *Behind the Business*. This next chapter is all about supporting small businesses and building community—and I couldn’t be more excited!

Thank you for every ounce of love and support over the years. You made this journey unforgettable. Here’s to big dreams and new adventures ahead!

XO,
